The S20 Mental Health Report is available
As part of the work of S20 2024, the G20 engagement group for science, which this year is being led by the ABC, a report was produced on the contemporary challenge of mental health. The two-volume document was accepted for publication in the scientific journal Trends in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
Led by the influential scientists Jair de Jesus Mari, Naomar Almeida Filho, Flávio Kapczinski and Antonio Egidio Nardi, and with collaborations from several other experts in the medical field, the approach strategies for the report deal with the topic of mental health in the post-covid world. Strategies must be based on scientific evidence and be sensitive to the cultural and local contexts of each patient. The second volume also highlights the influences of emerging problems, such as the climate crisis, and new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, on the development of personalized treatments.
